All-ASA Executive Chair Mher Arutyunyan and Director of Community Outreach Misak Martirosyan had the privilege of visiting the Medovka school in August 2023.
Medovka is a small village with a population of about 400 located in the beautiful Lori province of Armenia, near the Georgian border.
For several years now, All-ASA has been an important partner for the school, helping fundraise and build several facilities and installations, including:
- a microbus to help transport children to school
- a soccer field along with several benches
- a laptop and projector system
- Armenian costumes for a student dance group
- an indoor gym
- sports equipment
- a speaker
All-ASA's contributions to the Medovka school were entirely paid for by revenues generated from chapter dues and the sale of graduation cords and stoles.
The fruitful partnership between Medovka and All-ASA is an important indicator of the level of impact possible when the Armenian diaspora stays committed to improving and transforming the homeland. Our community must be realistic and knowledgable about the many areas in Armenia and Artsakh which are lacking in development, especially in the education sphere, and be proactive in working together to address these shortcomings.
We look forward to continuing and strengthening this partnership in the near future.
